Glorification

As Christians we beleieve that Christ has conquered sin and death and that Christ will come again to judge the earth. Glorification is what will happen when God gives us a new ressurected body. This will be the final process in God redeeming His creation and making all things new. Then we will fully image and reflect God the way He intended.

Romans 8:18-24

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

Paul tells us that creation is broken because of sin. Creation has been corrupted and enslaved by the fall. But we have a hope. The promise that God will restore his creation and to its original glory. The glory that madde Him declare "it is good" when he first created the universe and mankind. Creation will be set free from its bondage of sin and the results of the fall. Paul uses the language of childbirth because we will be born again, a new creation in Christ glorified as He is glorified.

Philipians 3:20-21

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself."
